Quabaug Corp. Charitable Foundation donates Safe Playground to The First Congregational Church
The First Congregational Church located in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, celebrated its new playground with a ribbon cutting on Sunday, November 26, 2006. The renovations, equipment and surfacing were donated by the Quabaug Corporation Charitable Foundation. The company recently launched QuaBoing -- playground surfacing material made of clean, recycled, shoe sole rubber -- which provides a safe surface for outdoor play areas.
As part of their 90th Anniversary, the Trustees of Quabaug's Charitable Foundation wanted to donate something to the Church that the children of the entire community could enjoy. The fact that QuaBoing playground surfacing was used will make it safer than most traditional surfaces. The Company also liked that using the QuaBoing surfacing material helped to educate the children about recycling. The playground is a wonderful addition to the church's recently renovated nursery for young families and fits in perfectly with its objectives.
"The children attending service Sunday participated in the ribbon cutting, donning colorful scissors and plenty of smiles. "The kids were so excited!" states Sally Geldard, inside sales and service coordinator for Quabaug Corporation. "And we are thrilled to utilize QuaBoing to provide a safe place for the children to play...it really made for a tremendous experience."
Quabaug Corporation recently donated surfacing to two other playgrounds: St Mary's School in Putnam, Connecticut and a residential playground in West Brookfield, Massachusetts.
